Advanced Cosmetic Dental Services in Hamilton
Our expert cosmetic dentists are proficient in dental bonding, cavity repair, full mouth restorations, veneers, crowns and more.
Dental Bonding
Tooth bonding is one of the easiest ways to enhance your smile. Dental bonding fixes small gaps and discoloured areas in your teeth to improve their overall appearance.
Our composite bonding procedure involves applying a material resembling your tooth’s enamel to the surface and then sculpting and shaping it. When the material hardens, it is polished, and voilà, you have a picture-perfect smile!
Cavity Repair
Cavities are not always unsightly. In fact, they may not even be noticeable. However, if left untreated, the decay can spread to your nerves and cause excruciating pain. Timely treatment can save you from painful extractions and root canal treatments, which are more long-drawn and expensive.
At Hamilton Dental, we offer amalgam, composite resin and porcelain tooth fillings, as well as inlays and onlays that restore your tooth’s functionality.
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers are one of the most popular services in aesthetic dentistry, and for good reason.
Veneer dentistry is a minimally invasive procedure that completely transforms your smile by concealing a wide variety of dental issues and imperfections by reshaping teeth. We provide porcelain teeth veneers and composite resin veneers, we will also advise you on the cost associated with dental veneers.
Dental Crowns
A crown or tooth cap encases the entire tooth’s surface and restores it to its original shape and size. It is mainly used to protect and strengthen teeth that cannot be restored with fillings.
We offer ceramic dental crowns that blend effortlessly with the natural colour of your teeth. If you are looking for a more durable material, we also offer porcelain crowns which are fused with metal for a stronger bond and gold-alloy crowns, also known for their durability.
Cosmetic Teeth Whitening
Dental teeth whitening is one of the simplest and quickest ways to make your smile more attractive. As you age, the enamel tends to get weaker and darker. The food you eat can also leave behind stains that cannot be removed with regular brushing.
Our Zoom Whitening gel, activated by light, penetrates your teeth to remove stains and makes your teeth brighter by up to eight shades.
Invisalign Dentistry
Invisalign provides you with all the benefits of metal braces minus its downsides. It consists of a series of clear, removable aligners made of virtually invisible plastic.
The aligners gently shift your teeth into the desired positions as you wear them. Since there are no metal brackets or wires, you can easily drink, eat, and clean your teeth.
Get the smile you want with no interference to your daily life.

FAQs
Will insurance cover my dental costs?
Your insurance company would be best qualified to answer this. Depending on your plan, some procedures like dental implants can be considered ‘restorative’ and may therefore be covered by your insurance.
Are cosmetic dentistry procedures painful?
The pain you experience will depend largely on the procedure. Generally speaking, cosmetic dentistry treatments only work on the surface of the teeth and cause very little pain. Treatments like dental teeth whitening and porcelain veneers for instance, will cause little to no discomfort. At the most, you may experience sensitivity for a few days.
A procedure like Invisalign however could cause some discomfort and irritation as the aligners are tightly fitted to the teeth. If you’re opting for composite resin fillings, you may experience some initial and post-procedural pain, especially if tooth decay has set in.
At Hamilton Dental, we usually numb the area with pain-free injections. You can also opt for sedation dentistry. You may still experience some post-procedural pain and sensitivity until the site has healed.
Can cosmetic dentistry replace missing teeth?
Yes, we have a number of options to replace missing teeth.
- Dental bridges can help replace one or more missing teeth located next to each other or even in different spots.
- Dentures are a cost-effective option if you’re missing more than one tooth.
- Dental implants can fix any number of lost teeth, but are generally more expensive.
Will dental teeth whitening weaken my teeth?
Having your teeth whitening carried out professionally will not hurt or weaken your teeth. Excessive use of over-the-counter bleaching strips and in-home treatments can break down the enamel. Also, keep in mind that bleaching agents need to be applied correctly to ensure gum tissues are not damaged. At Hamilton Dental, we ensure that every treatment is carried out only after our dentists have thoroughly assessed your oral health.
Can minors safely opt for cosmetic dentistry treatments?
We do offer family cosmetic dentistry. Some cosmetic dentistry can be performed on children and teenagers. However, other procedures may not be advisable as the bone growth may not be complete. It is best to bring your kids across to our clinic in Hamilton for an assessment.
I am a smoker. Would a cosmetic dentistry treatment benefit me?
Smoking is detrimental to your oral health and can lead to conditions like periodontal disease, bone structure loss, oral cancer and many more. These conditions damage your gums and bone structure, making it very difficult to conduct a cosmetic dentistry procedure successfully. For instance, dental implants require a healthy jawbone for osseointegration between your jawbone and implant.
How do I know whether I need cosmetic dentistry?
Unlike emergency dental services or procedures that are required for good oral health, cosmetic dentistry is a personal choice. If you’re self-conscious about your smile or the appearance of your teeth and often find yourself refraining from smiling confidently, you may want to consider cosmetic dentistry treatments.
Can cosmetic dentistry treatments fix my underbite?
Traditional braces, Invisalign and cosmetic procedures such as porcelain veneers and dental crowns can help people with an underbite resulting from misaligned teeth. However, if your underbite is the result of an overdeveloped lower jaw or an under-developed upper jaw, you may require jaw surgery. We can help you make an informed decision during your assessment.
Can cosmetic dentistry fix my overbite?
In some cases, cosmetic dentistry can help fix simple overbites. However, keep in mind that these are only aesthetic procedures. A permanent correction will require orthodontic treatments. We can guide you through our available treatments and modalities to help you make an informed decision that suits your budget.
